tattoos

this was my first tattoo, i got it done at bill’s tattoo and piercing shop in pace Florida. it says “ curiouser and curiouser” it is a quote from Alice in wonderland. the story behind it is when i was young my sister would read me Alice in wonderland then she went into the navy when i was 5 and this is the only childhood memory i can remember with her.  It was my 15th birthday present to my self. 

This is my first tattoo. I got it the day after my 18th birthday. I went two an a half hours away to Electric City Tattoo Gallery in Scranton, PA and was tattooed by Tyler Pawelzik (who was absolutely amazing, by the way).

There’s two reasons I got “open your mind before your mouth”:

1. Like a lot of teenagers, I don’t always think before I say things. I’ve done a lot of judging others and I’ve been trying to change that.

2. (the more important reason). These are lyrics from Motionless In White’s song “Immaculate Misconception”. It’s my favorite song from them, and they’re my favorite band. The past year and a half of my life has had a lot of ups and downs, but no matter what I was going through, I had Motionless In White by my side. They have honestly helped me so much through everything and what better way to thank thank them than getting their lyrics tattooed on me.

That’s also the reason I went to Scranton.. They’re from there and Angelo, Ricky, and Chris (members of miw) have been tattooed by Tyler!

This is my beautiful Totoro group shot done on my upper right shoulder. It was done by the amazing Abel at Lucky 13 Tattoo in Richmond, VA. After four sessions it’s finally complete and there are really no words to describe how happy I am. Totoro has always been a huge part of my life and who I am and now I can see him every time I look over my shoulder. :3

This was my first tattoo that I started when I was eighteen. Strength. Beauty of nature. There are many reasons I got this. I got this done back in October by Scott Forbes at Oceanic Art in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. He’s such a fantastic artist, and a pleasure to talk to. The day I got it done was a bit of a rough day for the shop, but, even so, he was friendly and the atmosphere stayed welcoming… I was actually even more impressed by the team there, they were great even though they were dealing with bullshit.

I got the tattoo because diving’s been a part of life since I can remember. My dad used to be a wreck diver, and still goes diving all the time. I started a couple years ago and now we go together all the time. The old school helmets just look awesome, and the jewels are there because dad’s always trying to figure out where sunken treasure might be.

My new tattoo. Arcade Fire are one of my favourite bands ever and their album “Funeral” is one of my most played records. I wanted a homage to the album, so I took the cover art to Greg Scott at Cock-a-Snook tattoo parlour in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK. He took the design and made a unique and beautiful interpretation of it, and 2 hours later it was on my arm and looking unreal!
